Police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on the north side of Branch Avenue (Route 5) and south of the Capital Beltway shortly after 1:45 a.m. on Monday, March 21, MDSP said.
Upon arrival, officers found 38-year-old Felnibe Patefagou, of Lanham, dead at the scene.
Initial investigation revealed Patefagou was crossing Route 5 when he was struck and killed in the left lane by a 2001-2005 Honda Civic, police believed.
The victim’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy, police said.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police at 301-568-8101.
